Terms of Use
By downloading or using Chawan, you agree to these terms. These terms also serve as the end user license agreement for the app.
License
OrbonTech grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Chawan on Apple devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the app.
Chawan Pro
Chawan Pro is a one-time, non-consumable purchase that unlocks additional features. It is not a subscription and does not renew or expire. Your purchase is tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on any device signed into that same account through Settings -> Chawan Pro -> Restore.
No warranty on estimates
Chawan's caffeine and L-theanine figures, brew timings, and reminder suggestions are estimates based on general published data. They are not medical advice and are not a substitute for professional guidance. Chawan is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, and OrbonTech does not guarantee that any figure, timer, or reminder in the app is accurate for your specific situation.
To the extent permitted by law, OrbonTech is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app, including decisions made based on its caffeine estimates or reminders.
Purchases and refunds
All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. OrbonTech does not receive your payment information and does not process refunds directly. Refund requests go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your content
Your tins, brews, journal entries, and photos remain yours. OrbonTech claims no ownership over anything you enter into the app.
Governing terms
These terms are between you and OrbonTech. Apple is not a party to this agreement and has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for Chawan. Where a required warranty applies and Chawan fails to conform to it, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price, consistent with Apple's own terms.
Changes
These terms may be updated from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
